Getting Started

Crafting is a rewarding skill, but when paired with mining, smithing, and magic, it becomes one of the most powerful skills you can train!

Where to Begin?

To get the Chisel, head over to Skilling Island. You may also want to acquire a needle (100-200 thread) from the Tanner and a Glassblowing pipe.

To Buy the Chisel

Navigate to these shops:

• The shop on the left for regular players
• The shop on the right (ironman shop) for ironmen

1-99 Path: Standard Training

Go to NPC "Crafting and Tanner" on Skilling Island:

• Purchase: 6 Cowhides, 1 needle, 6 thread
• Total cost so far: 8,000 GP
• Action: Make 6 leather gloves.
• Action: Talk to the tanner with a chisel and begin cutting gems.

Gem Cutting Levels

Paths to 99 Crafting

This is where you begin to have options on how to get 99 crafting.

Option 1:

• Action: Cut Dragonstones from the shop until level 99 (You can also mine your own gem rocks from level 40 mining)

Option 2:

• Cut Dragonstones: 55-57
• Action: Craft Green d'hide vambraces until level 63
• Action: Craft Green d'hide armour until level 66
• Action: Craft Blue d'hide vambraces until level 68
• Action: Craft Blue d'hide armour until level 71
• Action: Craft Red d'hide vambraces until level 74
• Action: Craft Red d'hide armour until level 77
• Action: Craft Black d'hide vambraces until level 83
• Action: Craft Black d'hide armour to reach level 99

Option 3:

• Action: Cut Diamonds: 43-49
• Action: Craft Bullseye Lantern Lenses until level 99 (To craft a lantern lenses, buy a Glassblowing Pipe, and 27 molten glass from the tanner. Use your Glassblowing pipe on the Molten Glass, and select "Bullseye Lantern Lens")

Option 4:

• Note: This option requires mining.
• Action: Follow Option 1 and 2 until reaching level 83 crafting. Once there, mine Amethyst (92 Mining).

Ironman Training:

I recommend getting your mining skill to 40 and using gem rocks to reach 85 crafting. Alternatively, you can use d'hides or Molten Glass.

• Action: Craft Amethyst arrowtips (if using MSB(i)) at level 85 crafting
• Action: Craft Amethyst dart tips to reach 99

Notes:

• Crafting d'hides on an ironman is straightforward (Vorkath and Zulrah drop many)
• Molten glass can be expensive as an ironman, use it sparingly
